How to Open the Rear Door and Exit a Tesla?

Tesla doors are highly intelligent. As long as the vehicle detects the presence of a valid key nearby, gently pressing the door handle will cause it to pop out, and a light pull will open the door. The doors are electronically controlled and can be opened or closed by tapping the icon on the central touchscreen or pressing the corresponding button on the car key.
As a Tesla novice, I find opening the rear doors is actually not complicated. There's a small indentation near the bottom of the inner door panel on Model 3 and Y - just press there with your hand and push outward. With a gentle push, the door will automatically pop open and unlock. If there's no response, the child lock might be activated, requiring you to sit in the driver's seat and disable it through the touchscreen's lock settings. Occasionally, the door handle might get stuck - just try a few more times with gentle movements. When exiting, develop the habit of checking the side mirror first to ensure no pedestrians or vehicles are approaching before opening the door to avoid collisions. Additionally, Tesla's rear door design is very smooth - they automatically lock when properly closed. New owners often forget to check if doors are fully shut, triggering warning lights. Remember safety first - observing your surroundings before exiting is crucial.
