How to Open the Magotan Key?

To open the Magotan key, use a flat-head screwdriver or the mechanical key inside. The Magotan comes with a smart key that contains a hidden mechanical key. After removing the mechanical key, gently wiggle it along the internal seam of the key to open it. Taking the 2020 Magotan as an example, it is a mid-size sedan with dimensions of 4865mm in length, 1832mm in width, and 1471mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2871mm and a curb weight of 1445kg. The 2020 Magotan features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. It is powered by a 1.4L turbocharged engine that delivers 150 horsepower, 110kW of maximum power, and 250Nm of maximum torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
I've also studied the Magotan's key before, and taking out the mechanical key is actually quite simple. At the top of the key, near the keyring, there's a small button. Press it and pull the casing firmly toward the keyring direction, and the upper part of the casing will separate. Inside is the folded mechanical key, which you can simply pull out. You need to use a bit of force when pulling, but don't be too rough—last time I almost broke the plastic clip. The design is quite clever; when you push the casing back after use, you'll hear a click indicating it's locked in place. It's best not to keep the key and your phone together, as it can interfere with the signal. Also, if the key has been dropped a few times, pay attention to whether the button gets stuck—if it does, you won't be able to press it open.
See that small square button on top of the Magotan key? Press it while pulling the metal ring on the keyring side, and the shell will click open. This mechanical key is cleverly concealed, usually folded inside to prevent scratches. When removing the key, remember to pinch the lower half for balance – I once nearly launched the key trying to operate it one-handed. The mechanical key only unlocks the driver's door; you'll still need the remote for the trunk. By the way, if the shell gets stuck, it's probably sand trapped around the button – just clean around it with a cotton swab. The remote key battery (CR2032, available at convenience stores) typically needs replacement every 4-5 years.
