How to Open the Hood of Ora Black Cat?

Locate the hood release lever under the dashboard, above the driver's left foot pedal. Pull the lever outward to pop the hood open. Move to the front of the vehicle. At the position directly above the logo, slightly lift the hood with your left hand while inserting your right hand into the gap. Feel for a handle inside, hook it with your right fingers, then you can lift the hood completely. After use, raise the hood to about 30cm height and let it drop freely. Listen for the locking sound to confirm proper closure.
I've been repairing cars for decades and have encountered all sorts of troubles with hoods that wouldn't open. After driving the Ora Black Cat, I found its design quite user-friendly. When you sit in the driver's seat, look for a small lever or button on the left side of the dashboard below the steering wheel. Give it a gentle pull, and when you hear a click, it means the hood is unlocked. Then, get out of the car, and near the lower edge of the front hood, there might be a hidden small handle or latch. Reach in with your hand to hook or lift it up, and the hood will pop open. Remember to prop up the support rod to secure it and prevent it from falling. This design is exclusive to electric vehicles—the engine compartment is spacious and clean, unlike traditional cars with oil stains, making it easy to check coolant or refill windshield fluid. Regular maintenance can prevent major breakdowns, and developing the habit of checking can save you a lot of hassle.
