How to Open the Hood of BYD Song Pro?

Shift to "P" or "N" gear and pull up the EPB switch. Then pull the front hood release handle located on the lower left side of the dashboard. Insert your fingers under the front edge of the front hood to locate the hood latch. Push the latch upward until it releases the front hood, then lift the front hood. Pull it over about 36 degrees, then release your hand to let the front hood fall naturally. Check if the latch is securely locked.
I've been driving the BYD Song Pro for a while now, and opening the hood is actually quite simple but requires attention to detail. First step, get in the car and sit steady. The small handle on the lower left of the steering wheel is the key. There's a plastic lever near your right or left foot—pull it firmly until you hear a click. Second step, get out and walk to the front of the car. You'll notice a slight gap protruding in the middle of the hood. Reach in with your hand to find the latch or hook, press it while pushing upward, and use your other hand to lift the hood. The design is very user-friendly and doesn't require much effort. The BYD Song Pro's hood is lightweight, but don't forget to secure it with the support rod after opening to avoid sudden closure and hand injuries. I once rushed a repair without securing it properly and damaged the radiator, which cost me quite a bit. For regular maintenance like checking oil levels or cleaning dust, it's best to inspect for blockages before using the AC in summer. Developing this small habit can extend your car's lifespan. Safety first—always turn off the engine before operating, whether you're a beginner or an expert.
