How to Open the Hood of a Toyota Car?

Toyota's hood opening method is as follows: First, press the unlock button in the control area on the left side of the steering wheel, at which point the hood will slightly pop up. Then, there will be another latch below the middle of the hood; release this latch and lift the front hood upwards. The hood is an important component of the car, made from rubber foam and aluminum foil materials. The large oval in the Toyota logo represents the Earth, with two ovals vertically combined in the middle to form a 'T', symbolizing the Toyota company. Its main models include the Corolla, Camry, ES, Asian Dragon, and Highlander. Among these, the Corolla is powered by a newly developed inline 4-cylinder 1.8L engine with dual VVTi technology, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
When I first drove a Toyota, I was also puzzled about how to open the hood. Later, I figured it out: First, get into the driver's seat, crouch down, and look for the small lever or handle on the lower left side of the steering wheel. Pull it, and you'll hear the hood loosen. Then, get out of the car and walk to the front. There's a gap between the hood and the front grille—reach in and find the second switch, usually a latch or button. Flip it, and you can lift the hood. Remember to secure it with the support rod to avoid accidental slamming and injury. I open it once a week to check the oil, coolant, and battery condition, spotting leaks or corrosion early to prevent breakdowns. Developing this habit makes the car more durable and fuel-efficient. Toyota's design is thoughtful, but don’t overlook safety—it’s best to do this after parking and turning off the engine.
