Tiguan hood opening method: 1. Below the steering wheel, on the outer side of the driver's left leg, locate the hood release handle. Pull the handle outward until you hear a "pop" sound, which indicates the front hood has popped up slightly; 2. Move to the front of the vehicle, above the Volkswagen logo. With your right palm facing upward, insert four fingers; 3. Feel for a small black lever, hook it with your fingertips and lift upward to raise the hood together. Finally, secure it with the support rod. Regarding body dimensions, the Tiguan measures 4506mm in length, 1809mm in width, 1685mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2684mm.
Opening the hood of the Tiguan is actually quite simple, and I do it every time before maintenance. First, locate the hood release lever in the driver's seat, usually near the floor above the left side of the steering wheel. Pull it, and you'll hear a pop sound. Then, get out of the car and walk to the front. You'll notice a small gap near the emblem. Reach in and feel for the internal release lever, then gently pull it to open the hood. Remember to always operate when the engine is cool to avoid burning your hands. If it gets stuck, it might be due to rust or dirt on the latch—just spray some rust remover and clean it. Regularly check if the lever moves smoothly to avoid issues at critical moments, which can save a lot of trouble. After all, as a long-time owner, I've found that many minor problems stem from improper maintenance. A simple regular check-up can significantly extend the vehicle's lifespan.
