How to Open the Hood of a Highlander?

For most vehicles, the hood release lever is located inside the car, typically near the driver's left leg. Press the switch to open the front hood. After pressing the front hood release switch, you will hear a 'pop' sound, indicating that the hood can now be opened. Then, lift the hood and support it with the hydraulic strut at the designated upper pivot point.
I've opened the Highlander's hood a few times, and the operation is quite intuitive. After you sit in the driver's seat, there's a small lever near your left foot labeled 'HOOD' or with a symbol. You pull it firmly, and you'll hear a click, indicating the hood is unlocked. Then, get out of the car and go to the front. There's a yellow safety hook at the center of the hood's front edge. You need to reach in and pull it open steadily, and the hood will automatically lift up. The support rod will hold it in place, so you don't have to worry about it slipping. Before operating, make sure the engine has cooled for about 15 minutes to avoid touching hot components and burning yourself. When closing the hood, lower it gently until you hear the locking sound to ensure it's secure. I often open it this way to check the oil or add windshield washer fluid. The Highlander's design is very user-friendly.
