How to open the fuel tank of the new Sagitar?
2 Answers
Volkswagen's new Sagitar fuel tank cover is located on the right side of the vehicle body. When the central locking system is unlocked, you can open it by gently pressing the fuel tank cover. The main reasons and solutions for the fuel tank cover not opening are as follows: 1. The fuel tank cover is stuck or rusted. Solution: Use a small wooden piece to insert into the gap of the fuel tank cover and pry it open. While prying, remember to pull the lock switch of the fuel tank cover. 2. The pull line is too long. 3. The fuel tank cover pull line has fallen off. Solution: Open the trunk, and on the side of the fuel tank cover, there will be an inner panel that can be opened. After opening, you can see the long pull line that operates the fuel tank cover. Pull it once to open. 4. The fuel tank cover spring has lost its elasticity. Solution: Apply lubricating grease to the hinge and the bite area of the fuel tank cover.
I've been driving the new Sagitar for a while, and opening the fuel tank cap is super easy. There's a small lever hidden under the carpet next to the driver's left leg, which is a bit dark in color and not easy to notice. Just crouch down and feel for it. Give it a gentle pull, and the fuel tank cap will pop open automatically. Then, just walk to the side of the car and press it to open. Remember to always operate when the car is stationary and the engine is turned off for safety. When closing the cap after refueling, do it gently to avoid jamming it. The new Sagitar's design is very user-friendly—no need for a key or button, much more convenient than some older cars. Sometimes the lever might stick slightly, but a bit of lubricant spray will fix it. Overall, the experience is great, avoiding any hassle during refueling, with thoughtful design and low maintenance costs.
