How to Open the Fuel Tank Cap on a Volkswagen Sagitar?

With the vehicle unlocked, simply press the fuel tank cap with your hand to open it. This opening method is controlled by a switch button inside the car. The switch is typically located in the same position across the same model, usually on the floor near the driver's seat in economy cars. This opening method is becoming increasingly popular, allowing direct access by using the key to unlock the fuel tank cap, pressing it, or simply lifting the cover.
Opening the fuel tank cap on the Sagitar is actually quite simple. After driving this car for three years, I've discovered three common methods. The most frequently used way is to directly press the central console unlock button - the one near the gearshift with a fuel tank icon. You'll hear a click sound when it's unlocked. If you have the key in hand, holding the unlock button for 3 seconds will also pop open the fuel tank cap. Occasionally when the car key battery is dead, I've tried pulling the door handle inside the driver's door twice consecutively - after all doors are unlocked, the fuel tank cap can be pressed open. Remember to turn off the engine before opening the cap, and avoid dirtying the fuel filler neck when refueling. By the way, for older Sagitar models, you need to press the right side of the fuel tank cap to flip it open after unlocking.
