How to Open the Fuel Tank Cap of the Buick Encore?

The fuel tank cap switch of the Buick Encore is located on the left side of the driver's seat. Open the fuel tank cap switch inside the car, then go outside to open the fuel tank cap. The Encore is developed based on GM's small crossover platform, featuring a coupe-style design rarely seen in SUVs and excellent power performance for a small SUV. The Encore is equipped with two powertrain options: a 1.0T SIDI direct-injection turbocharged engine paired with a 6-speed DSS intelligent transmission, and a 1.3T SIDI direct-injection turbocharged engine paired with a CVT intelligent continuously variable transmission. The maximum power outputs of these two engines are 92kW and 121kW, respectively.
I used to have trouble finding the fuel tank cap switch on the Buick Encore too. Actually, it's located near the driver's left leg, close to the door. If you look down near the pedals, there's a small lever with a fuel pump icon—just give it a firm pull, and you'll hear a 'click' as the cap pops open. If you can't feel it, it might be blocked by the floor mat. In newer models, it’s sometimes replaced with an electronic button on the left-side dashboard near the steering wheel. Remember to unlock the car doors when refueling, otherwise the fuel cap will stay locked and won’t budge—I once panicked at a gas station because I forgot to press the key fob’s unlock button. Once the outer cap pops open, simply twist the inner cap counterclockwise—no need for a key like in older cars. After refueling, make sure you hear the 'click' when tightening the inner cap, or you might smell gasoline leaks.
