How to Open the Front Trunk of a Mercedes-Benz?

Press the trunk opening button on the car key. Some models may not have a dedicated front trunk button on the remote key, in which case pressing the unlock button will also release the front trunk. Press the button located on the left side of the steering wheel or in the central control area. For lever-type mechanisms, they are typically found on the lower left side of the driver's seat or the lower left side of the steering wheel. The front trunk is linked with the door locking system. As long as the central locking is disengaged, you can pull open the front trunk from the front. The owner only needs to gently sweep their foot under the front trunk, and the front trunk lid will open gracefully.
As a new Mercedes-Benz owner, I find opening the front trunk quite simple. For electric models like the EQC, the front trunk is located under the hood, and the opening process involves a few steps: First, unlock the vehicle either by automatic key proximity detection or by pressing the small engine icon button on the key fob. Then, locate the small handle or indentation along the hood seam—just give it a gentle pull to lift the hood. Inside the car, there's a button on the center console that directly controls the opening and closing; it's safest to operate this when the vehicle is powered on. Don’t overlook some thoughtful design features—if the hood seems stuck, it might be an electronic lock issue. Wait until the car is completely stationary before trying again or consider replacing the key battery. I always keep the manual in the glovebox for quick reference on the exact location, as the front trunk’s discreet placement offers great dust protection and is perfect for storing luggage. Before opening, ensure there are no obstacles around, and when closing, press firmly to prevent water ingress. Regular lubrication of the hinges can extend the hood’s lifespan.
