Method to open the front hood of Geely Boyue: Pull the unlock button located at the lower left of the dashboard on the driver's side inside the car. Just press it gently, and the hood will slightly pop up with a click sound to unlock. However, pressing the hood unlock button inside the car alone does not fully open the hood. There is an additional latch located at the center of the front hood underneath. Only after releasing this latch can the engine hood be fully opened. The Geely Boyue is a compact SUV launched by Geely Auto. In terms of body dimensions, it measures 4519mm in length, 1831mm in width, 1694mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2670mm.

I've been driving my Boyue for two years now, and opening the hood is actually quite easy, but don't forget safety first. The first step is to sit in the driver's seat and make sure the car is parked and stable—never operate it while driving. Then, near the pedal area on the left side, you can feel a plastic handle, possibly with a small engine symbol on it. Give it a firm pull, and you'll hear a 'click' as the hood unlocks. Immediately step out to the front of the car—don't take too long. There's usually a metal safety latch hidden in the gap between the hood and the front of the car. Just hook it with your finger or push it aside, and it will release. Finally, gently lift the hood and secure it with the support rod. I always take the chance to check for dust in the engine compartment to prevent the latch from getting stuck. I've even encountered situations where it froze shut in cold winter weather, so regular cleaning is important.

What Causes Vibration in the Accelerator Pedal?

The reasons for vibration in the accelerator pedal are: 1. Resonance caused by the engine is transmitted to the accelerator pedal through the vehicle body, resulting in a trembling sensation when the foot is placed on the pedal, which is a normal phenomenon; 2. Clutch slippage can also cause vibration in the accelerator pedal. In manual transmission and dual-clutch models, the power transfer and disconnection between the engine and the transmission are accomplished by friction plate clutches. If the clutch plates are severely worn and slipping or the damping springs are broken, it will cause the accelerator pedal to vibrate; 3. Every engine is mounted on the frame using hydraulic or rubber engine mounts. If the engine mounts leak oil or become aged and broken, their damping effect will significantly decrease, which can also lead to vibration in the accelerator pedal.

Can a Naturally Aspirated Car Be Converted to Turbocharged?

It is possible to convert a naturally aspirated car to turbocharged. To modify a naturally aspirated engine into a turbocharged engine, a turbocharger needs to be installed, and the compression ratio pistons must be replaced. Additionally, internal reinforcement of the engine is required; otherwise, the engine will not be able to withstand the increased power and temperature. The primary function of a turbocharger is to increase the engine's air intake, thereby enhancing the engine's power and torque, making the car more powerful. After installing a turbocharger, the engine's maximum power can increase by 40% or more compared to its naturally aspirated state. However, it is important to note that engine modification is illegal without prior application and registration with the vehicle management department. Failure to do so may result in the vehicle being deemed unroadworthy and could lead to unnecessary complications during annual inspections.

How to Identify a Vehicle's Emission Standard

Methods to identify a vehicle's emission standard are as follows: 1. Check the vehicle's environmental protection label, which usually has clear markings on the back; 2. Visit the website of the Motor Vehicle Exhaust Pollution Supervision and Management Center for inquiry; 3. Take the vehicle registration certificate (original or copy) to the vehicle management office for inquiry; 4. For new vehicles, refer to the vehicle's factory certificate, which includes this information. However, the certificate is usually kept by the vehicle management office, so it is advisable to make a copy when purchasing a new car; 5. Make a rough estimate based on the vehicle's registration year: China plans to gradually implement the China 6 emission standard from July 1, 2020; vehicles registered after July 2017 comply with the China 5 standard; those produced between September 2009 and July 2017 are China 4 models; those produced between July 2007 and September 2009 are China 3 models; and those produced between July 2004 and July 2007 are China 2 models.

What is the emission standard of the Prado?

As of July 5, 2019, the domestically produced 3.5-liter version of the 2019 Prado still adheres to the China V emission standard. The China V standard for motor vehicle pollutant emissions was implemented nationwide from January 1, 2018, requiring a 25% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions compared to the China IV standard. Methods to check a vehicle's emission standard: Check the vehicle's environmental protection compliance label: The page where the vehicle certification number begins contains a description of the emission standard, though it is not directly stated as China IV or V but rather as a string of characters. Based on the vehicle's manufacturing year: The vehicle's manufacturing year can provide a rough estimate of its emission standard. Visit the vehicle management office for inquiry: Bring the motor vehicle registration certificate to the vehicle management office, locate the corresponding counter, and have the staff assist with the inquiry. Online inquiry: Log in to the 'Motor Vehicle Environmental Protection Website' and click on 'This query system is only for new production vehicle inquiries. Can You Sleep in the Car with the Heater On?

You cannot sleep in the car with the heater on, as it may lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. The correct operation method for using the heater in the car is as follows: 1. Always leave a small gap in the window to ensure air circulation between the inside and outside of the car; 2. If possible, avoid turning on the air conditioning to prevent an increase in carbon monoxide concentration; 3. Turn on the external circulation of the air conditioning before starting the car to ensure continuous air exchange between the inside and outside of the car, thereby avoiding carbon monoxide poisoning; 4. Set an alarm. Be aware that you may lose consciousness if you fall into a deep sleep, so it is essential to set an alarm. Based on the rate of carbon monoxide concentration increase, setting it every half hour is most appropriate to ensure you remain in a conscious state.
