How to Open the Front Hood of a Levin?

The method to open the front hood of a Levin is as follows: Locate the release handle under the dashboard near the driver's left calf, towards the front of the car. Pull it, and the front hood will pop up about 1cm. Then, while lifting the hood with one hand, use the other hand to reach in from above the front grille to find the hood release latch. Pull the latch to fully open the front hood. Taking the 2019 Levin as an example, its body structure is a 4-door, 5-seater sedan with dimensions of 4640mm in length, 1780mm in width, and 1455mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2700mm, a fuel tank capacity of 43 liters, a trunk capacity of 471 liters, and a curb weight of 1410kg.
Opening the hood of the Leiling is actually quite simple, though it took me a while to figure it out initially. When you sit in the driver's seat, look down to the lower left side. There's a black lever on the side of the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel, marked with a hood symbol. Give it a firm pull, and you'll hear a 'click' as the hood pops open. Then, step out of the car and move to the front. Slide your hand into the gap in the middle of the hood, feel for a metal latch, and gently push it to the right while lifting the hood with your other hand. Don't forget to prop up the silver support rod and secure it into the slot on the inner side of the hood for stability. Remember to wait at least five minutes after turning off the engine before doing this—if you've just driven at high speeds, the engine can be hot enough to fry an egg.
Last week, while helping my neighbor's younger sister open the hood of her Levin, I discovered a little trick: the handle under the left side of the driver's seat needs a quick, firm pull, not a slow tug. After the hood pops open slightly, the safety latch at the front is particularly interesting—you have to push the silver tab sideways all the way with your fingertip, don't try to lift it. The mechanism has been significantly improved in the new Levin model, though some owners of older versions mention the handle might be near the floor mat. When lifting the hood, remember to support the middle section with your left hand; this aluminum hood is heavier than expected. Oh, and after snow in winter, make sure to knock off the snow before lifting the hood—some owners have pulled the frozen rubber components apart by yanking the handle directly.
