How to Open the Front Hood of a Cadillac?

Engine hood switch is located inside the car, it needs to be opened manually; There is a switch button on the left side of the foot pedal, press the switch to open the outer engine hood; Lift the hydraulic cylinder of the engine hood to open the front hood.
I've been driving Cadillacs for over a decade, so popping the hood is second nature to me. On my first try, I went straight to the front of the car and fumbled around, nearly breaking the release latch. Later I learned you need to unlock it from inside first. Sitting in the driver's seat, locate the hood release lever – usually found below the steering wheel or near the left footrest. Pull it, and the hood will pop open slightly with a small gap. After exiting the vehicle, approach the hood where you'll spot a secondary safety latch in the middle – typically a small hook or button. Flip it open and gently lift the hood to secure the support rod. Remember, locations vary across Cadillac models. For instance, there's quite a difference between my CTS and CT6 – the CT6's latch sits slightly below the emblem. Safety tip: Always operate when the engine is cool to avoid burns. Regularly opening it to refill washer fluid or check oil can extend your car's lifespan. My routine includes monthly cabin decluttering to prevent potential issues.
