How to Open the Elantra Trunk Switch?

Locate the trunk control switch inside the car. Then lift the control switch, and you will hear a "pop" sound, which indicates the trunk is opening. At this point, there will be a larger gap around the trunk, and then you can lift the trunk upwards. Finally, the trunk will be fully open.
I remember there's a simple way to open the Elantra's trunk. Normally, I just press the trunk button on the remote key, and it pops open instantly—very convenient. Sometimes when I forget the key inside the car, I can use the button on the door panel near the driver's seat, usually located around the driver's left leg. There's also a hidden switch on the trunk lid itself; just feel around near the license plate area to open it. However, some newer models come with electronic sensors—just wave your foot under the rear bumper to open it, which is pretty smart. Regularly check if the switches are stuck or clogged with dust, as this might cause malfunctions. The trunk can still be opened after parking and turning off the engine, but it stays locked while driving to prevent accidental opening. It's recommended to wipe the switches with a damp cloth periodically to keep them responsive, making trunk access much smoother.
