How to Open the Door with a Mondeo Mechanical Key?

Take out the mechanical key, insert the key and press it against the lock, then remove the lock cover in the direction of the arrow to reveal the keyhole. Use the key to press against the hole above, hold the white cover and slide it out in the direction of the arrow. There is a lock cylinder; insert the key and turn it to open the door.
I've been driving a Mondeo for several years and have used the mechanical key to unlock the door quite a few times, mainly when the remote key's battery died or malfunctioned. The mechanical key is hidden on the side or back of the remote key, usually released by pressing a small button, and the tactile feedback is quite noticeable. Locate the small cover on the door handle—either on the back of the handle or in a recess at the bottom—and gently pry it open with the tip of the key, being careful not to scratch the paint. Insert the key into the keyhole and turn it clockwise until you hear a click, indicating the door is unlocked. This design is quite practical, especially in winter when batteries tend to drain faster. I always keep a spare battery in my car. The keyhole on older Mondeo models is more visible, while newer models hide it better, so you might need to feel around the first time you use it. Get into the habit of checking the keyhole location to avoid fumbling in emergencies—safety always comes first.
