How to Open the Car Hood?

The method to open the car hood is: There is a handle on the lower left side of the driver's seat. After pulling it, the hood will pop open slightly. Reach inside, and slightly to the right of the center, there is another handle. Lift it upwards to fully open the hood. The car hood is made of rubber foam and aluminum foil materials. It not only reduces engine noise but also isolates the heat generated during engine operation, effectively protecting the paint on the hood surface and preventing aging. The method to close the car hood is: Pull the hood down, place both hands on the front edge of the hood, corresponding to the positions of the headlights on both sides, and press down. A click sound indicates that the hood is securely closed. Avoid pressing too hard on the central part of the hood, as it is made of aluminum alloy and excessive force may cause dents.
I also struggled with this when I first started learning to drive. Sitting in the driver's seat, look down near your left foot. There's usually a small lever under the steering wheel with an icon showing a popped-up hood. Give it a firm pull and you'll hear a click from the hood. Then quickly get out and go to the front of the car. Slide your hand into the gap in the middle of the hood and you'll feel a movable metal latch. Flip it to the left or right while lifting the hood with your other hand. Beginners often miss the final step: there's a metal support rod inside the hood that needs to be secured into the slot on the hood. Some models are designed differently - for example, my neighbor's SUV requires pulling the lever twice to unlock. If you can't find the lever, checking the owner's manual that came with the car is always a safe bet.
