How to Open a Car Jack?
1 Answers
There are two common types of car jacks: rack-type jacks and screw-type jacks. The method to open a scissor jack involves turning the threaded rack with a crank to tighten the lifting arms and raise the vehicle off the ground. This structure has a relatively small load capacity. Below are the methods to open different jacks: 1. Diamond-shaped jack opening method: Similarly, it uses the rack to tighten the support arms and lift the vehicle. Most private cars are equipped with diamond-shaped rack jacks, which have a more reliable and sturdy support structure compared to scissor jacks. The structure is the same for small cars to SUVs, with only differences in size and materials. 2. Screw jack opening method: Insert the wheel hub wrench into the jack's bolt hole and turn it to lift the jack. Screw jacks rely on their own threaded structure for self-locking, providing support to hold the vehicle, and their load capacity is much greater than that of rack jacks. The downside is that screw jacks lift slowly but descend quickly, so safety precautions must be taken during use.
