How to Open a BAIC Car Key?

Press the button on the remote key to release the stainless steel key. Place the key with the icon side facing up. Hold the two ends of the key with your left index finger and thumb, aligning them with the pattern. Place your right thumb on the right side of the keychain. While holding both sides of the key with your left hand, press down firmly with your right thumb to widen the curved gap in the middle, then pull both hands outward simultaneously. Forcefully separate the unpatterned half from the middle gap. Between the two parts, you will find a rubber strip to prevent dust from entering.
Last time when my BAIC car key ran out of battery and couldn't unlock the door, I replaced the battery myself. The whole process was quite simple: First, prepare a small flat-head screwdriver or a thin tool, locate a small gap on the back of the key, and gently pry open the casing. Don't use too much force, as it may damage the plastic clips or the internal circuit board. Once opened, you'll see a CR2032 coin battery—just pry it out and replace it with a new one, making sure the positive and negative poles are aligned. Then, snap the casing back together and press firmly, and you're done. It only took me a few minutes to replace it myself. You can buy the battery at any supermarket—no need to go to a repair shop. Regularly checking the key's battery life can help avoid the embarrassment of being locked out, especially in winter when the battery drains faster. Most BAIC keys are designed this way, and you'll get the hang of it after a few tries.
