How to Measure a Two-Wire Crankshaft Position Sensor?
1 Answers
Measurement method for a two-wire crankshaft position sensor: 1. Check the gap between the crankshaft position sensor and the pulse wheel, as excessive or insufficient gaps can cause signal deviation; 2. Turn off the ignition switch, disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector, and measure the resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the sensor, which should be between 400 to 600 ohms; 3. Turn on the ignition switch, measure the voltage of the two signal wires to ground, which should be 1.4V. When starting the engine, measure the signal voltage of the crankshaft position sensor. The function of the crankshaft position sensor is to determine the position of the crankshaft, i.e., the rotation angle of the crankshaft. It usually works in conjunction with the camshaft position sensor to determine the basic ignition timing.
