How to Manually Reset the Fault Light on Wuling Zhiguang?

Open the driver's side door. Pull the hood release lever located on the left side of the driver's leg area. Lift the engine hood upwards and secure it with the support rod to ensure it is firmly propped up and to prevent any hazards. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery as shown in the diagram for more than one minute.
I've been driving Wuling for over a decade and have encountered the check engine light multiple times. A simple solution is to disconnect the negative battery terminal, wait 3-5 minutes, then reconnect it to reset the ECU. But remember, this only works for temporary issues like false oxygen sensor readings or voltage fluctuations. If the light stays on, there's probably a real problem. Last time my engine light stayed on after resetting, and the shop found clogged fuel injectors. Always wrap the ignition switch with tape before working to prevent accidental airbag deployment. Also, remove watches and metal jewelry to avoid short circuits. After repairs, test drive for 30 minutes to confirm the light doesn't reappear before long trips.
