How to Lubricate a Scooter?
2 Answers
Prepare basic tools such as scissors, a wrench, lubricating oil, stain remover, a rubber tube, and a cloth. Use the wrench to remove the nut on the outside of the scooter's wheel, then take off the wheel itself. Next, use the scissors to pry out the bearing. Before applying lubricating oil to the bearing, clean it with the previously prepared stain remover, then dry the bearing with the cloth. Fill the rubber tube with lubricating oil, then aim the tube's head at the bearing and squeeze out a small amount of lubricating oil in sequence to apply it.
When lubricating my scooter, I always prepare cleaning tools and specialized oil first. I find a clean spot, thoroughly scrub the chain with an old toothbrush and cleaner to remove dust and old grease. After letting it dry for a few minutes, I apply a few drops of lubricant to the chain while rotating the wheel to ensure even distribution. Remember not to over-apply, as excess oil can attract dust and make cleaning harder. After lubrication, I wipe off any excess oil with a cloth to keep the surface tidy. During testing, I gently push the scooter to feel if the chain runs smoother. This simple routine extends my scooter's lifespan and ensures a smoother ride without sudden jams. Monthly maintenance takes just minutes, saving both money and hassle.
