Before locking the steering wheel, make sure the car is parked steadily. After turning off the engine, remove the key. For cars with a manual transmission, the steering wheel will automatically lock when the driver's side door is opened without any additional steps. After removing the key, turn the steering wheel half a turn to the left until you hear a sound similar to a door closing. At this point, the steering wheel is locked. Pull the lever downward, then adjust the steering wheel in both the vertical and height directions to a comfortable position. Finally, flip the lever back up to complete the process.
