How to lock the doors of a Passat?

First, shift the car into P (Park) gear to keep the vehicle stationary. The overall dimensions of the Passat have been increased. Press the one-touch start button to turn off the engine. Then press the P button on the center console to activate the electronic parking brake. After that, press the button on the door handle from the outside to lock the doors. The Passat is equipped with smart door locks that automatically detect the car key.
I remember when I first started driving the Passat, I also had to figure this out, but now I can do it with my eyes closed. The most common method is to take out the car key and press the lock button—when you hear a beep, it means it's locked. After getting out of the car, just touch the small groove on the outer side of the door handle and hold your finger there for a second, and the mirrors will automatically fold in to confirm it's locked. If the key fob runs out of battery, don’t panic—just pull out the mechanical key, insert it into the keyhole under the driver’s door handle, and turn it. You can also press the lock icon button under the air vents on the center console inside the car to lock it. A quick reminder: after locking, it’s best to pull the door handle to confirm. The Passat’s keyless entry can sometimes accidentally unlock if you stand too close. Keep the key in your pocket and avoid pressing the buttons accidentally—last week, a friend accidentally triggered the buttons and drained the key’s battery.
