How to Lock a Tesla with a Card Key?
1 Answers
Place the card key against the vehicle's card reader area (approximately one-third up the driver's side door pillar). When Tesla detects the card key, the exterior lights will flash, the horn will sound, and the side mirrors will fold, indicating that the doors are locked. Tesla also offers the following two methods for locking the vehicle: 1. Authenticated Phone Key: a. Install the Tesla app on your authenticated phone to manually lock the car via the app. b. The authenticated phone must have Bluetooth enabled. When you approach the vehicle with the authenticated phone, the car detects the phone's Bluetooth signal. Press the door handle to automatically unlock the doors. When you exit the vehicle with the phone, the doors will automatically lock. 2. Remote Key: a. Press the middle button once to lock the vehicle. Press it twice to unlock the vehicle. b. If the "Auto-Lock on Walk Away" feature is enabled, the vehicle will automatically lock when the remote key is out of detection range after you leave the car.
