How to Lift the Wiper Blades on the Lamando?

The method to lift the wiper blades on the Lamando is: 1. Turn off the car, then within 10 seconds, activate the windshield washer switch by pulling the wiper lever toward yourself; 2. After pressing the windshield washer switch, the wiper blades will automatically move to the middle position of the windshield; 3. Simply lift the wiper blades manually. To reset them, follow the steps in reverse order. The Lamando is a compact car produced by SAIC Volkswagen, with dimensions of 4599mm in length, 1826mm in width, and 1425mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2656mm. The front of the car features a family-style design, with a three-bar grille connected to the headlights and round fog lights positioned on either side of the bumper.
When I first drove the Lamando, I didn't know how to operate the wipers either. Later, I figured out a makeshift method: within 10 seconds after turning off the engine and getting out of the car, immediately push the wiper lever upward, and you'll hear a click as the wipers stand upright in the middle of the windshield. Then, you can gently pull the wiper arm outward to make it stand straight. Remember not to yank it hard—last time my friend broke the bracket and spent over 300 yuan on repairs. This operation is mainly for winter when you're afraid the wipers might freeze to the windshield, or when you need to replace the rubber blades. The Lamando's design is similar to other Volkswagen models, and the manual calls this 'service mode.'
First, find a flat surface to park the car and turn off the engine, but don't engage the handbrake to keep the wheels free. Immediately operate the wiper switch by pushing it upward once, and the wipers will stop halfway. Quickly get out of the car and gently lift the wiper arm until you hear a click, which means it's fully upright. Note that the wiper bracket on the Lamando is a hinge structure, and forcing it could damage the linkage joint. I recommend performing this step before replacing the wiper blades—it's much safer than direct removal and also makes it easier to clean leaf debris from the slots in summer. This procedure is also applicable to newer models released after 2019.
