How to Install Windshield Wipers for a Car?

Lift the cover on top; for some new wipers, you just need to pinch both sides and the cover will pop open by itself. Then remove the wiper arm from the wiper. After removing the old wiper, gently place the wiper arm on a towel. Be sure not to let it snap back on its own. Remember to remove the rubber protector from the new wiper. Open the cover on the new wiper, then place the U-shaped connector of the wiper arm into the wiper's slot. Insert the U-shaped connector into the slot. After installation, close the cover and gently lower the wiper into place.
Installing a car wiper is actually quite simple, I've replaced mine many times. First, you need to turn off the engine to avoid accidental activation and injury. Then, gently lift the wiper arm and secure it in the service position or place a cloth on the glass to prevent slipping—I learned this the hard way when the arm fell and nearly cracked the windshield. When removing the old wiper blade, carefully observe the clip structure: there might be a small button to press or a tab to pull out, don't force it or you might damage the connector. Before installing the new wiper blade, double-check the size and model to ensure it's correct and won't leave streaks. Align the blade with the slot and push firmly until you hear a click, indicating it's secured. After installation, test it by running the wipers on low speed for a few cycles to confirm there's no noise or shaking. Wiper blades don't last long, so it's recommended to check for wear every six months and avoid parking in direct sunlight to extend their lifespan. It's cost-effective and safe—doing it yourself is the most reliable way.
