How to Install the Rear Windshield of Wuling Sunshine?

First, use a flat-head screwdriver to slowly remove the black protective strips around the windshield, then remove the protective cover under the windshield. Use a small blade to slowly scrape off the black sealant adhered to the car, then use sandpaper for final cleaning until the color of the metal frame is exposed. Apply the purchased polyurethane sealant to the frame of the car windshield, preferably in a triangular or diamond shape, to ensure a tight bond with the glass. After installation, reattach the wipers and the lower protective panel, and use transparent tape to secure the windshield to the roof. It is best not to drive immediately after completion.
Replacing the rear windshield of the Wuling Sunshine can be quite challenging, so you need to be careful when doing it yourself. Last time I replaced mine, I first gathered the necessary tools: windshield adhesive, rubber seal strips, a blade, and suction cups. Gloves and goggles are a must to protect yourself from broken glass. Then, I removed the old windshield by carefully cutting through the old sealant with the blade, being cautious not to scratch the car body, and then slowly pried it off with the suction cups. When cleaning the installation area, I thoroughly wiped away any residue with alcohol to ensure it was dry and dust-free. Applying the adhesive is a critical step—make sure it’s spread evenly along the edges, and when placing the new windshield, align it properly to avoid tilting. After securing it, wait a few hours for the adhesive to cure, preferably leaving it overnight before driving. Finally, check the seal by pouring some water to see if it leaks. Take your time with the whole process—glass is fragile, so handle it gently. If you can’t find the right tools, you can always ask at an auto parts store.
