How to Install the Intake Camshaft on BMW N46 Engine?

Before installing the camshaft, first install all bearing caps and check if the camshaft holes are misaligned. When installing the camshaft, the cam of cylinder 1 must face upwards without pressing the valves. First, tighten the bearing caps of the 2nd and 5th positions alternately in a diagonal pattern with a torque of 20 Nm, then install the bearing caps of the 1st and 3rd positions, and finally install the bearing cap of the 4th position. Install the camshaft half-moon key and timing gear, tighten the bolts to prevent camshaft sliding and reduce risks, with a torque of 80 Nm.
