Open the engine compartment hood and locate the dust cover at the rear of the headlight assembly. Unscrew it following the thread direction, then find the bulb socket inside the headlight assembly. Pinch both ends of the wire retaining clip beside the socket, and the clip will release. After installing the new bulb, hook both ends of the wire retaining clip onto the mounting slots to secure the bulb, then reconnect the plug.

Here are the relevant details: Mercedes-Benz Models with Upright Logo: The Mercedes-Benz C-Class, E-Class, and S-Class series all come with an upright logo option, alongside models featuring the large grille logo. The upright logo leans towards a more business-oriented style, while the large grille logo is more suited for younger audiences, offering a sportier and more dynamic appearance. This emblem was created after the merger of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie. How many days will a car without annual inspection be impounded?

Penalties for cars without annual inspection vary depending on the duration. If the delay is within three months, the inspection can be directly completed with a verbal warning. If the delay exceeds three months but is less than two years, a fine will be imposed, and 3 points will be deducted from the driver's license. If the delay exceeds two years without an annual inspection, the vehicle's registration will be canceled, and restoration usually requires payment of a fine. Failure to conduct the annual inspection on time, which also means not displaying the inspection compliance label, will result in the vehicle being impounded and fined. The number of days the vehicle is impounded depends on the specific circumstances, as detailed below: Standard inspection procedure: The vehicle owner or unit must fill out the "Motor Vehicle Annual Inspection Form" and submit the vehicle for inspection at a designated location on the date specified by the local vehicle management office. After passing the inspection, the vehicle management authority will affix a stamp on the vehicle's registration certificate and the "Motor Vehicle Annual Inspection Form." Special cases: Vehicles that cannot undergo inspection on time due to long-term assignments outside the local area: The owner must submit an application, and the local vehicle management office will authorize the vehicle management office at the assignment location to conduct the inspection. The inspection results will then be reported to the original vehicle management office. Vehicles unable to undergo annual inspection on time due to special circumstances: The owner must apply for an extension in advance with the local vehicle management office.

Is ETC Mandatory to Install?

ETC is not mandatory to install. According to Article 19 of the "Notice on Vigorously Promoting the Development and Application of ETC on Highways" issued by the State Council, vehicles without ETC installed by 2020 will not enjoy toll discounts. In the future, only one manual lane will be retained at highway toll stations, and vehicles without ETC will have to pay tolls through the manual lane. Additionally, newly installed ETC devices cannot be used on highways immediately; they need to be activated first. During free holiday periods, vehicles with ETC can still use highways, and ETC users passing through ETC lanes will not be charged. ETC Billing Principle: Highways will have one or more ETC lanes. Through dedicated short-range microwave communication between the vehicle's electronic tag installed on the windshield and the microwave antenna in the ETC lane, and using computer networking technology for backend settlement with banks, vehicles can pay tolls without stopping at toll stations. This is based on the principle of "pass first, deduct later." Benefits of Installing ETC: Time-saving: Eliminates the hassle of waiting in line; Green and eco-friendly: Reduces noise and exhaust emissions by allowing vehicles to pass through toll stations without stopping; Reduces wear and tear: Saves costs by minimizing frequent starts and brakes, thereby reducing vehicle wear and fuel consumption; Improves efficiency: ETC lanes can theoretically increase traffic efficiency by 2-3 times, making traditional ETC faster, more advanced, and more high-tech. Compared to license plate payment, ETC technology is more mature and advantageous. More policy support: The State Council has clearly stated in the "13th Five-Year Plan for the Development of a Modern Integrated Transportation System" that "by 2020, intercity transportation cards should be interoperable in key city clusters, and the proportion of vehicles using ETC should significantly increase." It also set a target in the "13th Five-Year Plan" for comprehensive transportation development: "By 2020, the ETC usage rate for road passenger vehicles should reach 50%." More future possibilities: In addition to continuously improving the convenience of ETC installation and usage rates for passenger vehicles, future efforts will focus on promoting ETC for trucks and exploring deeper integration of ETC systems with smart transportation developments such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication and vehicle-road coordination. This will provide comprehensive travel services for vehicle owners, meaning more application scenarios will support ETC usage.

Is ETC Mandatory to Install This Year?

It is not mandatory to install ETC, but vehicle owners are encouraged to do so. According to the State Council's regulations, vehicles without ETC will not enjoy toll discounts starting from 2020. In the future, only one manual lane will remain at highway toll stations, and vehicles without ETC will have to pay tolls through manual lanes. Additionally, newly installed ETC devices cannot be used immediately on highways; they need to be activated first. During free holiday periods, vehicles with ETC can still use highways, and no fees will be deducted when passing through ETC lanes. ETC Billing Principle: Highways will have one or more ETC lanes. Through dedicated short-range microwave communication between the vehicle's on-board electronic tag (installed on the windshield) and the microwave antenna in the ETC lane at the toll station, the computer network technology is used to settle payments with the bank in the background. This allows vehicles to pay tolls without stopping at the toll station, all based on the principle of "pass first, deduct later." Benefits of Installing ETC: Time-saving: Eliminates the hassle of waiting in queues; Green and eco-friendly: Promotes low-carbon travel by reducing noise and exhaust emissions since vehicles do not need to stop at toll stations; Reduced wear and tear: Saves costs by minimizing frequent starts and stops, thereby reducing vehicle wear and fuel consumption; Improved efficiency: Theoretically, ETC lanes can process vehicles 2-3 times faster, making traditional ETC more advanced, faster, and high-tech. Compared to license plate payment, ETC technology is more mature and advantageous. More policy support: The State Council explicitly stated in the "13th Five-Year Plan for the Development of a Modern Comprehensive Transportation System" that "by 2020, key city clusters will achieve interoperability of transportation smart cards, and the proportion of vehicles equipped with ETC will significantly increase." It also set a target in the "13th Five-Year" comprehensive transportation development indicators: "By 2020, the ETC usage rate for road passenger vehicles should reach 50%." More future possibilities: In addition to continuously improving the convenience of ETC installation and usage rates for passenger vehicles, efforts will be made to promote ETC usage for trucks in the future. There will also be exploration into deeper integration of ETC systems with vehicle-to-vehicle communication, vehicle-road coordination, and other smart transportation development directions, providing comprehensive travel services for vehicle owners. This means more application scenarios will support ETC usage.
