How to Install ETC?

ETC installation steps are as follows: Upon receiving the device, first check if the ETC card and electronic tag (OBU) are damaged. Press the anti-tamper button on the back of the OBU, the red light will briefly turn on, and the OLED screen will display "Tag Invalid" and "Please Insert Card", indicating the device is functioning normally. Clean the front windshield, ensuring the glass surface is smooth, clean, and dry. Then peel off the adhesive backing film of the OBU and stick it to the installation position. Press firmly with your hand for 2-3 minutes to remove air bubbles. Insert the ETC card with the front side facing the driver and the back side facing the windshield. The chip area should be inserted into the OBU device. ETC activation method: Insert and remove the ETC card twice consecutively until the electronic tag screen displays "Bluetooth On". If "Tag Invalid" appears when inserting/removing twice without attaching the tag, this is normal and does not affect activation. Alternatively, press the button on top of the electronic tag directly to enable Bluetooth. Turn on your phone's Bluetooth, open the corresponding mobile APP (usually there's a download QR code on the electronic tag), and enter the device activation interface. Click "Device Connection" and wait patiently for the "Connection Successful" prompt. After successful connection, upload a photo of the vehicle's front to complete activation.
Last time I installed the ETC device, I put a lot of thought into choosing the location because poor placement could affect signal reception and driving safety. First, I carefully cleaned the upper middle area of the windshield with alcohol to remove grease and ensured it was dry and dust-free. Then, I took out the double-sided tape from the ETC device, peeled off the protective film, and firmly pressed it onto the windshield for several seconds to ensure strong adhesion. Next, I inserted the ETC card, turned on the device, and activated the account via the mobile app. Throughout the process, I made sure not to place it on the black grid areas or corners of the windshield with metal film to avoid signal interference. After installation, I deliberately drove through toll stations a few times to confirm proper detection before feeling at ease. This method is simple and reliable—anyone can do it themselves—but the key is patience and attention to detail to avoid rushed installation leading to device loosening.
