How to Install Car Snow Chains?

The installation steps for car snow chains are: 1. Lift one side of the vehicle's drive wheel with a jack, unfold the rubber snow chain and lay it flat under the wheel; 2. Pull both ends of the snow chain up to meet at the top of the wheel, so that the snow chain wraps around the wheel; 3. Hook the inner side of the wheel with the snow chain hook; 4. Pull the outer side of the snow chain mesh outward by hand and then hook the outer hook; 5. Take out the rubber edge rope and hook the hooks to both ends of the snow chain; 6. Install the thinner edge rope from the diagonal direction to ensure that the tension of the rubber rope is evenly distributed; 7. Install the medium and thicker edge ropes according to the above method.
In the past, when I drove to the mountains in winter, I always had to install snow chains, otherwise the tires would slip, which was too dangerous. To install snow chains, first ensure the car is parked on level ground, engage the handbrake and put it in P mode—safety first. Then identify the drive wheels of the car, for example, front-wheel-drive vehicles require chains on the front tires. Open the snow chain packaging, lay the chains flat on the ground, and slowly move the car forward a bit so the tire rests on the middle of the chain. Next, lift both ends of the chain and fasten them onto the tire, using the provided hooks to secure the connection points tightly. Avoid leaving the chain loose, as it may flail around while driving and damage the tire. After installation, drive the car a short distance to allow the chains to self-adjust, then get out and check the tightness again—ideally, it shouldn’t exceed the width of a finger. Stay calm throughout the process, and wear gloves to prevent your hands from freezing. Remember, you only need to install chains on the drive wheels; fitting them on all wheels is unnecessary.
