Installation method for car rain guards: 1. Clean the inner side of the car's rearview mirror with a damp towel and let it dry; 2. Confirm the direction of the left and right rain guards, place them on the rearview mirror, and find the correct position; 3. After confirming the position, peel off the covering of the 3M double-sided tape; 4. To achieve the best adhesion effect, it is recommended to use a lighter or a hair dryer to heat the adhesive surface back and forth to increase its activity; 5. Align the rain guard with the position, press it firmly to ensure complete adhesion, and the installation steps are completed. Function of rain guards: When it rains, opening the window avoids rainwater directly pouring into the car and prevents the rainwater scraped by the wipers from blowing into the car; they can also provide shade, preventing dazzling side glare from affecting driving visibility.
Installing rain guards is quite simple, I've done it myself several times. First, thoroughly clean the window edge area with alcohol to ensure there's no grease or dust; this is crucial, otherwise the adhesive won't hold well. Then take out the rain guard kit and align it with the top edge of the window—make sure it's not crooked, you can use tape for temporary fixation. Next, peel off the adhesive backing film and press firmly for at least half a minute to ensure adhesion; using a hairdryer to gently heat the adhesive strip can enhance stickiness. After installation, park indoors for a day to let the adhesive fully cure before driving to prevent detachment. Installing on a rainy day is a good idea—you can ventilate without letting rain in. I once encountered loose adhesive strips during my installation, and found out it was due to insufficient initial cleaning; re-cleaning and reattaching solved the issue. 3M adhesive strips are more durable.
