How to Install and Use an ETC Card?

ETC device installation process is as follows: Upon receiving the device, first check if the ETC card and the electronic tag (OBU) are damaged. Press the anti-tamper button on the back of the OBU, and the red light will briefly illuminate. The OLED screen will display "Tag Invalid" or "Please Insert Card," indicating the device is functioning normally. Clean the front windshield to ensure the glass surface is smooth, clean, and dry. Then, peel off the adhesive backing of the OBU and attach it to the installation position. Press firmly for 2-3 minutes to remove any air bubbles. Insert the ETC card with the front side facing the driver and the back side facing the windshield, ensuring the chip is inserted into the OBU device. ETC activation method: Insert and remove the ETC card twice consecutively until the electronic tag screen displays "Bluetooth On." If "Tag Invalid" appears when inserting and removing the card twice without attaching the electronic tag, this is normal and does not affect activation. Alternatively, press the button on the top of the electronic tag to enable Bluetooth directly. Turn on your phone's Bluetooth, open the corresponding mobile app (usually a download QR code is provided on the electronic tag), and enter the device activation interface. Click "Device Connection" and wait patiently for the "Connection Successful" prompt. Once connected, upload a photo of the vehicle's front to complete activation.
I've been driving for many years, and installing an ETC is actually quite simple. The main steps are to first apply for a card and the accompanying OBU device at a bank or ETC service point. After obtaining them, clean the upper middle area on the inside of the windshield at home to ensure there's no dust or grease, then attach the device and insert the card to activate it. Generally, just follow the steps in the instruction manual. When using it, drive directly through the ETC-only lane on the highway, keeping your speed between 20-30 km/h. The system will automatically recognize and deduct the toll, eliminating the need to stop and saving you from queuing. Remember to regularly check your account balance and top up via a mobile app or bank to avoid insufficient funds. If the device becomes loose or has signal issues, promptly visit a service point for assistance to ensure a smooth journey.
