How to Install a Roof Rack?

First, secure the crossbars onto the roof rails, then mount the entire roof rack onto the crossbars (for detailed instructions, refer to the roof rack's manual). A prerequisite for installing a roof rack is that the vehicle must come with pre-installed roof rails designated for rack installation; otherwise, installation is not possible.
I used to modify cars frequently, and installing a roof rack is actually a technical task. First, you need to check if the roof has pre-installed mounting points. Most new cars come with these rail points, and you can simply attach the crossbars using the matching kit. If there are no mounting points, you’ll need to choose a U-clamp or door-clip system—never force it. When installing, use a torque wrench to tighten the screws; too loose and it will wobble, too tight and it may damage the roof paint. After installation, test it: place a heavy object to check stability and also assess if the wind resistance is too high. It’s recommended to recheck the tightness of the screws after every long trip—this way, the rack will last longer and carry more luggage. Remember not to exceed the load limit specified by the manufacturer—safety is key.
