How to Identify Positive and Negative Wires for Factory Car Speakers?
1 Answers
When the speaker cone retracts inward, the terminal connected to the positive pole of the battery is the negative terminal of the speaker. Set the multimeter to the ohm (Ω) range and touch both ends to the speaker terminals. If the speaker moves slightly upon contact, the direction it pushes forward indicates the standard positive terminal. Wires for the same speaker typically share a color scheme, such as white or brown, with the positive wire being a solid color. Align the rotary knob arrow to V (black, 50V) and touch any wire with the red probe. If the meter needle moves to the right, that wire is the positive pole.
