How to Identify if Car Glass is Original?

To determine whether the car glass is original, check if there is the vehicle brand's LOGO on the glass. If present, it indicates original production. The markings on the side windows and front/rear windshields should generally be the same. Minor discrepancies in English details are normal.
Last time I bought a car, I paid special attention to whether the glass was original because replaced glass might indicate prior accidents. A simple method is to check the corners of the windshield, where there are small markings including the brand logo and production date code. Original glass should have the car brand logo, such as a Toyota emblem for a Toyota vehicle. The date code consists of dots or numbers indicating the production year and month. This date should match or precede the vehicle's manufacturing date—if the glass date is newer than the car, it’s definitely been replaced. I used a flashlight to inspect carefully; if the markings were blurry or missing, it likely wasn’t original. Aftermarket glass is cheaper but weaker, prone to shattering or poor sealing, which can lead to leaks during rain and compromise safety. Now, every time I check a car, I spend a few minutes verifying this to avoid buying a problematic vehicle and ensure clear driving visibility.
