How to Identify an Imported Car?
1 Answers
Here are the methods to determine whether a car is imported: From the appearance: If you are familiar with car brands, those with exquisite craftsmanship, harmonious shapes, and smooth lines are likely to be imported cars. From the sub-brands: Looking at full-line brands like Volkswagen and Audi alone, it's hard to tell which are imported. However, through sub-brands like A4 and TT, you can identify TT as an imported car because it isn't domestically produced. Some brands, such as Renault, don't have factories in China, so all their cars are imported. Check the rear emblem: Domestically produced cars have Chinese characters on the rear emblem. Besides this, you can also check the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), a 17-digit code. If the first letter isn't 'L', it's definitely an imported car—this is the most accurate method. The VIN is located at the bottom left corner of the front windshield and can be seen from outside the car. For example, a Subaru's VIN might be: JF1SH52F89G071375.
