On the inner side of a safety helmet, there is usually a 3C certification mark, which is a circular frame with the letters 'CCC' inside. Below the 3C mark, there will be a string of numbers. You can enter this string in the certificate verification section of the China Quality Certification Center's official website to check the authenticity of the certificate.
Recently, when choosing a helmet for myself, I first carefully check the inner lining or bottom of the helmet for the small three-C CCC mark, which might be located near the label. If it's missing, I immediately rule it out because it means the helmet hasn't passed the national mandatory safety tests. I also inspect the certification label on the packaging, verify the certification number, and then go online to the official website of the China Quality Certification Center to check its authenticity. Counterfeit marks are often printed blurry and feel rough to the touch, so I use my fingertips to check for clarity. Helmet safety is absolutely not something to take lightly. Spending a few extra minutes checking these details with each purchase can prevent major troubles. After all, in an accident, a non-certified helmet offers far less protection, potentially leading to brain or neck injuries—by then, regret would come too late. Developing this good habit not only gives me peace of mind while riding but also saves me the hassle of returns and repairs later on.
