Vehicle scrapping procedures are as follows: The vehicle owner applying for scrapping and renewal must fill out and stamp the "Application Form for Vehicle Modification, Transfer, Alteration, Suspension, or Scrapping" in duplicate. Apply at the registration acceptance counter. For vehicles that have reached the mandatory scrapping age, a "Vehicle Scrapping Notice" will be issued. For vehicles not yet at the scrapping age but deemed compliant with scrapping standards after inspection by the vehicle examination counter, a "Vehicle Scrapping Notification" will be issued. The owner should choose a qualified recycling company to dismantle the vehicle by presenting the "Notice". The recycling company will dismantle the vehicle and take photos after verifying the "Notice". The engine must be separated from the vehicle, the engine block must be destroyed, and the frame (chassis) must be cut. The owner should submit the "Modification Form", "XX Province Vehicle Renewal Technical Assessment Form", "Scrapped Vehicle Recycling Certificate", and vehicle dismantling photos to the vehicle examination counter for verification and signature. The license plates will be reclaimed, and the case will be submitted for approval according to regulations to complete the scrapping registration.

I just completed the car scrapping procedures last week, and the whole process went smoother than expected. First, I went to the vehicle management office to fill out the application form, bringing my ID card, vehicle license, and vehicle registration certificate. The staff issued the scrapping certificate on the spot. Then, I contacted the government-designated recycling company, and they sent a tow truck the next day without charging any towing fees. A week after the dismantling was completed, I received the scrapping and recycling certificate, and finally submitted both certificates to the vehicle management office to deregister the file. Remember to settle any traffic violation fines in advance, and hand over the license plates to the dismantling plant during recycling. I also received 500 yuan as the residual value for my scrapped Lavida. At the service hall, I unexpectedly saw a flyer promoting the replacement of new energy vehicles—turns out you can get an additional subsidy for scrapping an old car and buying an electric vehicle.

Can a dual-clutch transmission be driven in manual mode?

Dual-clutch transmissions can be operated in manual mode. Introduction to Dual-Clutch Transmission: A dual-clutch transmission (DCT) is a type of transmission mechanism. Unlike conventional automatic transmission systems, it combines the characteristics of both manual and automatic transmissions. In addition to offering the flexibility of a manual transmission and the comfort of an automatic transmission, it also provides uninterrupted power output. Working Principle of Dual-Clutch Transmission: The dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) is based on the structure of a manual transmission. However, unlike a manual transmission, the DCT features two clutches connected to two input shafts. Gear shifting and clutch operations are controlled by an integrated mechatronic module consisting of electronic and hydraulic components, eliminating the need for a clutch pedal.
