How to Get On and Off a Vehicle When It's Parked in the Motor Vehicle Lane?

Parking in the motor vehicle lane to get on or off a vehicle is considered a traffic violation. If someone needs to get on or off or pick up passengers, it is recommended to detour or drive to the nearest area where temporary parking is allowed. On roadsides without parking lines or no-parking signs, temporary parking is permitted by the curb, but it must comply with parking regulations. According to Article 33 of the "Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China," relevant departments of the municipal government may delineate parking spaces on urban roads without obstructing pedestrian and vehicle traffic and specify the usage time of these parking spaces. 1. Parking is prohibited in sections with no-parking signs or markings, in sections with separation facilities between motor vehicle lanes and non-motor vehicle lanes or sidewalks, as well as in crosswalks and construction zones. 2. Parking is not allowed at intersections, railway crossings, sharp curves, narrow roads less than 4 meters wide, bridges, steep slopes, tunnels, or within 50 meters of these locations. 3. Parking is prohibited in front of bus stops, emergency stations, gas stations, fire hydrants, or fire stations (posts) and within 30 meters of these locations. Even if there is a temporary parking sign in the motor vehicle lane, parking is strictly prohibited within the yellow grid lines painted on both sides of the lane; otherwise, it is undoubtedly considered illegal parking. Although there may be conflicts between the two signs, the prohibition of parking within yellow grid lines is a clear stipulation in traffic regulations, which is beyond doubt.
