Power on the car but do not start the engine (press the start button without stepping on the brake). Select the side mirror you want to set by pressing the mirror adjustment selection button (left or right). Step on the brake, shift to R gear, and the selected mirror will automatically tilt down to the factory preset position. Use the 4-way adjustment button to adjust it to your desired position. Press and hold the seat memory button (1, 2, or 3) for about 2 seconds, step on the brake, shift to P gear, and press the mirror adjustment selection button once more to complete the setup.

As someone who drives frequently, I've encountered many situations requiring parking in narrow alleys. Folding the mirrors on the XC60 is very simple: After getting in and sitting in the driver's seat, look down at the control area next to the door handle. There's a button with an icon resembling two small mirrors folding inward—press it, and the mirrors will automatically retract to the car's edges. It's electrically controlled, so never try to fold them manually, as this can easily damage internal components. It's great to fold them when washing the car or parking on the roadside to prevent scratches. I've also noticed that if the mirrors don't automatically unfold after unlocking the car, check whether the memory function is disabled in the settings or if the battery is low. Developing this small habit can save a lot of hassle, avoiding unnecessary repairs.

What does the downgrade of a driver's license to C1M mean?

After the downgrade of a driver's license, it is generally reduced to C1, as currently, the C1 license can be used for a lifetime if physical conditions permit. The change to C1M often occurs because the driver's license has an additional M-class vehicle type, and there is no further downgrade available for the M license, so it naturally comes with it. The C1M license can be considered a combination of the C1 and M licenses. The C1M license can be seen as a combination of the C1 and M licenses, adding the M-class vehicle type to the C1 driver's license. Among them, the C1 license allows driving small cars, while the M license permits the operation of wheeled self-propelled machinery. C1: Small cars and small automatic transmission cars, low-speed trucks, three-wheeled cars. Small and micro passenger cars, as well as light and micro trucks; light, small, and micro special-purpose vehicles; small passenger cars with a seating capacity of 9 or fewer. M: Cars, tire cranes, road rollers, tractors, harvesters, and dedicated construction machinery, etc.

What to Do If 12 Points Are Deducted During the Probationary Period of a Driver's License?

Drivers must participate in seven days of theoretical study within fifteen days; take the subject one exam within twenty days; if the exam is passed, the points will be cleared, and the motor vehicle driver's license will be returned; if the exam is failed, continue to participate in study and exams; if refusing to participate in study or accept exams, the driver's license will be suspended. Extended information: The following are several situations where points are deducted from a driver's license: 1. Penalty for drunk driving: 12 points deducted at once, and the driver's license is suspended for 6 months. 2. Penalty for not yielding as required: 3 points may be deducted (6 points for not yielding to school buses as required). 3. Penalty for not meeting vehicles as required: 1 point deducted. 4. Penalty for running a red light (violating traffic signal instructions): 6 points deducted for running a red light. 5. Penalty for speeding: 6 points deducted for exceeding the speed limit by 20%~50%; 12 points deducted for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50%.

Do I Need to Add Additives When Using Ethanol Gasoline?

Cleaning the fuel system does not require additives, but if the fuel system hasn't been cleaned, additives should be added. The following are the disadvantages of using ethanol gasoline: 1. It can clean out impurities from the engine's fuel system, causing them to accumulate in the cylinders and leading to severe engine carbon buildup. 2. It can clog the fuel injectors. 3. It can cause damage to the engine. The following are the functions of fuel cleaners: 1. Remove carbon deposits and clean the fuel system: New-generation fuel additives can break down harmful substances such as gum deposits in fuel and engine carbon buildup. After adding fuel additives five times consecutively, carbon deposits on the exhaust pipe decrease, and components like the filter, exhaust valve, and fuel system become cleaner. 2. Enhance engine performance: New-generation fuel additives can adsorb and encapsulate gum deposits, generating gaseous "micro-explosions" in the combustion chamber under high temperatures, leading to secondary atomization of the fuel for complete combustion and improved engine power. 3. Improve atomization and save fuel: New-generation fuel additives directly attack the long carbon chains in fuel molecules, creating "micro-explosions" in the combustion chamber for secondary atomization of the fuel, achieving complete combustion, increasing thermal efficiency, and reducing fuel consumption.

What to Do When the Mechanical Lock Won't Open the Car Door?

One reason the mechanical lock won't open the door is due to "disengagement," which renders the mechanical key ineffective. Additionally, some car models, when in anti-theft lock mode, not only lock the engine but also prevent the mechanical key from opening the door. Here are explanations for why the mechanical lock might not open the door: 1. Generally, the door lock mechanism of a car's central locking system uses a mechanical latch to secure the door. If the door lock isn't engaged, the external door handle or the interior door handle can open the door. 2. To open the door from the inside, if equipped with a lock switch, first activate it, then pull the interior handle, or pull the interior handle twice consecutively. 3. From a mechanical perspective, the interior and exterior handles each have their own rods or cables to open the door. Even if the vehicle loses power, the door can still be opened from the inside using the handle. 4. If none of these scenarios apply and the vehicle has an interior unlock button, you'll need to enter the car, start the ignition, and press the interior unlock button to release the lock.

How long does it take for a car battery to recover after being drained by leaving the lights on?

After a car battery is drained by leaving the lights on, it generally takes about 8 hours of charging to recover. Additionally, avoid parking the car in an open-air parking lot for extended periods to prevent severe battery discharge. Solutions for a dead car battery: 1. Push-starting with manpower: When there are enough people to push the car, this is a simple and cost-effective but labor-intensive method. 2. Jump-starting with jumper cables: If another vehicle is available nearby, this method saves time, effort, and money. 3. Using a car emergency power source: Besides jumper cables, keeping an emergency power source in the car allows you to start the vehicle without waiting for help from others. 4. Mobile emergency power bank charging: Car emergency power banks work similarly to phone power banks—simply charge the car when the battery is dead to get it started. Effects of a discharged battery on the car: - Unstable engine idle speed - Reduced actual fuel injection by the engine - Weakened ignition energy - Inability to deactivate the anti-theft alarm - Lockout of the audio system - Malfunction of related systems.

Does Water in the Engine Affect the Car?

Water in the engine does affect the car. The impacts of water in the engine include: 1. Engine failure. 2. Short circuits in engine circuits and wiring. 3. Damage to the driving system. 4. Contamination of lubricating oil. 5. Transmission damage. 6. Damage to the boxing system. 7. Damage to other instruments or components. After water enters the engine, the following checks should be performed: 1. First, check if there is water in the engine cylinders: Water can cause the connecting rods to bend and damage the engine. If it is confirmed that water has entered the engine, the spark plugs should be removed, the fuel supply system and ignition system should be manually cut off, and then the engine should be run using the starter motor to allow the water to drain out smoothly. 2. Check the condition of the oil in various vehicle systems: To avoid foaming, cloudiness, and other phenomena after water ingress, which can lead to oil degradation and loss of lubrication. Water may carry sand particles, causing excessive engine wear, so timely cleaning and replacement are necessary. After testing, the electrical connection components inside the engine compartment should be cleaned to prevent corrosion and sand accumulation due to moisture. Components such as the fuse box, sensor plugs, and areas prone to water accumulation should also be cleaned.
