I used to drive a Tiguan for a while, and folding down the rear seats was actually quite simple. First, enter the rear seating area, and you'll find a small pull loop or button on both sides of the seat shoulders. Pull it upward to release the seat latch. Then, use your hand to push the seatback forward, allowing it to fold down naturally—no excessive force is needed. If it's a 60/40 split seat, you can fold down either the left or right side individually. Once folded, the space increases significantly—I once managed to transport an entire coffee table with it. Remember to remove any pillows or items from the seat before folding it down to avoid getting them pinched. And for safety, don’t let passengers sit in the folded-down position while driving.
