How to flatten the rear seats of the Prado?

There is a small lever near the headrest on the door side of the rear seat. Just pull the small lever down firmly. Then push the seat to flatten it.
Last time I took my family camping, I specifically researched how to fold down the rear seats of the Prado. The actual operation is quite simple: First, climb into the back seat. There's a metal pull ring at the front of each side's seat cushion—grab it and pull up firmly to remove the entire cushion. Then, you'll see two latch switches at the bottom of the seatback, usually located beneath the side of the seat. Reach for the plastic tab and push it upward while using your other hand to press the shoulder of the seat forward, and the backrest will fold down. Important note: For older models, you need to lower the headrest to its lowest position first. Newer models with electric buttons are more complicated, requiring a combination of buttons on the center console. Once flattened, the trunk can fit two mountain bikes, but there will be a slight slope at the edges. When laying out an inflatable mattress, use a folding box to level the surface.
As an experienced off-road enthusiast, I'm very familiar with converting the rear seats of a Prado into a bed. Actually, it's not as complicated as removing the seats: first, clear all clutter from the rear seats, bend down to find the unlocking handle at the front edge of the seat cushion (it's hidden in the seam and a bit hard to locate), then pull it up firmly and fold the cushion forward. Here's the key point! Don't rush to recline the backrest yet—first tuck the seatbelt buckle into the seat gap to avoid damage, then press the small black trigger on the side of the backrest, use your knee to push against the middle of the seat with force until you hear two clicks, which means it's securely locked. In practice, older models are smoother than newer ones; for post-2018 models, you need to lower the center armrest first. Finally, check if everything fits perfectly—if you can slip a finger into the gaps, you'll need to redo it, otherwise there will be rattling noises while driving.
