How to Fix a Broken Door Handle?

Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the lock cylinder decorative cover. Remove the rubber pad, open the door, pry off the rubber pad, and then remove the screws of the door handle lock block. Remove the small round cover. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to pry from the gap between the lock block and the door panel, and gradually disassemble the door handle lock block. Hold the door handle with your left hand and pull it backward to remove the door handle. It is difficult to repair a broken door handle, and even if repaired, it is prone to breaking again. It is recommended to replace it with a new one directly.
A few days ago, my colleague's car door handle also broke, and I took a look for him. The simplest emergency solution is to use tape to secure the broken part, which won't affect opening and closing the door. However, this is only a temporary fix. It's best to remove the door panel and inspect it. If the exterior door handle is broken, usually the entire handle assembly needs to be replaced. You can buy the corresponding model online for less than 100 yuan. When removing the door panel, be careful with the clips—use a plastic pry tool to gently lift along the edges. Once opened, you'll see three fixing screws and a cable; unscrew the screws and disconnect the cable to replace the handle. The interior door handle is even simpler, usually secured with just two screws. After replacement, test if the door opens and closes smoothly. If there's any unusual noise, spray some lubricant on the lock cylinder. For older cars, be mindful of aging plastic parts—avoid pulling too hard on them in daily use.
