How to Extract Gasoline from a Car Fuel Tank?
1 Answers
Gasoline cannot be extracted directly from a car fuel tank because the tank opening is U-shaped, preventing a hose from being inserted. However, you can choose to drain the oil at the gasoline filter under the car body or open the drain screw at the bottom of the fuel tank. When refueling, stop once the pump automatically shuts off ("jumps the gun"). This is because fuel expands when hot and contracts when cold. Overfilling the tank during hot weather may cause gasoline to overflow, which could lead to a fire if exposed to an open flame. Gasoline products can be categorized into three main types based on their usage: aviation gasoline, automotive gasoline, and solvent gasoline. The first two are primarily used as fuel for gasoline engines, widely employed in cars, motorcycles, speedboats, helicopters, and agricultural/forestry aircraft. Solvent gasoline is used in the production of synthetic rubber, paints, oils, perfumes, and other products.
