How to Estimate the Position of Car Wheels?
1 Answers
The most common method to judge is: the driver looks straight ahead with an appropriate sitting posture. When the connection point between the left wiper and the car body coincides with the connection point between the left white lane line and the car hood, the left wheel has already pressed onto the lane dividing line. To judge the position of the right wheel, the driver should lean slightly to the left. Therefore, the method for predicting the right wheel position is slightly different from that of the left wheel. When the right white lane line aligns with the center of the car hood, the vehicle is basically pressing the line. However, this method is somewhat referential but not entirely precise. Since the position and size of wipers vary for each car, the so-called connection points are not uniform.
