How to Distinguish Between Good and Bad Car Air Filters?

Here are the methods to determine the quality of an air filter: 1. Check the filter material. The main filtering material of an air filter is the filter paper. Currently, filter papers are mainly made of domestic or imported paper, both of which have good filtering performance. Counterfeit filters use inferior filter paper, which cannot prevent dust from entering the engine, thus affecting the engine's normal operation. 2. Examine the rubber quality of the filter. The structure of a filter generally consists of filter paper and rubber bonding. There is also a difference in the rubber quality between genuine and counterfeit filters. Genuine filters have better rubber quality, being more elastic, while counterfeit filters have softer and inferior rubber. A relatively easy method to distinguish is to fold the air filter in half. After releasing, a genuine filter quickly returns to its original shape, whereas a counterfeit filter, due to poor rubber quality and inadequate bonding with the filter paper, shows obvious creases in the middle after folding.
