How to Display the Total Mileage on a Volvo?

You can switch to the total odometer reading using the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel. Exit to the homepage, then select 'Trip' and scroll up/down to view instant fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, total mileage, etc.
I've driven several Volvo models, and the way the total mileage is displayed is quite intuitive—usually visible directly on the digital screen in the center of the instrument cluster. Take the XC60 as an example: after starting the car, the default display on the instrument cluster is the total mileage, with large, clear numbers. For some older models like the S90, you might need to press the scroll wheel button on the right side of the steering wheel to switch views before it appears. I’ve noticed this design is particularly convenient for safe driving since the information is right in front of you, eliminating the need to look down and get distracted. Additionally, Volvo cars allow access to trip data, including trip mileage and fuel consumption, via the central infotainment screen, but the total mileage always remains on the main instrument cluster. During routine maintenance, I also record the numbers to ensure the car stays in good condition, as higher mileage can affect engine longevity. Overall, Volvo’s system is quite user-friendly, with simple operation that doesn’t require complex setup.
