How to Disassemble a Hyundai Elantra Key?

Insert a slender tool into the slot and gently pry open the remote cover. Reinstall the rear cover of the remote key.
Last time I disassembled the key of an old Elantra myself, sharing some tips. This type of key usually has a snap-fit structure, so you need to find the right gap to start. The common method is to use a small flat-head screwdriver or thin plastic sheet, gently prying along the seam on the side of the key. Be gentle—the plastic shell is quite fragile, and using too much force can easily leave white marks or break the snap-fit tabs. Inside, you’ll usually find a rubber waterproof ring—don’t lose it. The key component is the small battery, typically a CR2032. The main reasons for disassembly are to replace it or clean the button contacts. When reassembling, align the top and bottom covers properly; a soft 'click' means the snap-fit is secured. If you can’t manage it yourself, a professional locksmith can do it for just a few dozen bucks, much cheaper than a dealership.
